The Better Dungeons is a mod which adds new dungeons, mobs, bosses, and items to Hexxit. Conquering one of these dungeons is very rewarding as they hold chests filled with loot. However, there are monsters and traps in these dungeons, making them a challenge to complete. Most of the dungeons contain a boss, a significantly stronger mob within the dungeon which drops rare items. When the mod moved to 1.7 versions, it was re-coded from scratch, so most of the content from previous versions was cut out, and some features/systems were overhauled like the magic system. This wiki mostly focuses on the 1.6.4 version of the mod.

In May 2016, a 1.9 version of the mod was planned but unfortunately Chocolatin disappeared from the internet shortly after this post that explained the version in-depth. Chocolatin has not been seen since, meaning the original Better Dungeons/Chocolate Quest is a dead mod.

However there is a passionate group of developers who have been recreating Chocolate Quest for 1.12+ and they have been working on it for 2+ years and are into the Beta Stages of development. The mod does have a lot of changes from Better Dungeons/Chocolate Quest due to the developer's vision for the mod. It's currently in the process of being ported to 1.16.5 and will then be ported to the latest 1.18 version, but that will take awhile.

You can find it here.
