The Hexxit Wiki is in a strange place, it seems, and it took me a while to realize what was going on.
The issue, from what I can tell, is that the Hexxit Wiki is something of a landing page for some Minecraft mods. For whatever reason, this wiki has enough clout to show up in the top results for most of the mods listed here. Particularly problematic is the fact that the Twilight Forest mod - one of the most popular mods for a wide variety of Minecraft updates - is included in this list, with the third result in my search being our wiki page, and a search in a private window listing it fourth. This is something of an issue, because this wiki's content is essentially historical: any living mods mentioned here are described only with a snapsho…
So, during the process of getting back into the habit of checking on this wiki as often as I remember to, I've found myself with a few questions that I can't really answer myself about how the purpose of the wiki and also some minor format stuff. I wasn't really sure if I should put this into the "Wiki Standards" forum page, so I ultimately chose to put this whole write-up in my "user blog" because it seems more approachable (and less authoritative, which I am not, really), seems easier to put multiple topics into one post, and seems to have gotten better responses in the past (though that was years ago, now that I think of it).
Firstly, I've noticed that a few mods don't really have other wikis to speak for them. Obviously it would be best…
I've noticed a lot of images for blocks are in strange angles, poorly edited, or are just simple in-game screenshots of the blocks. Personally I think we should get a page that promotes a project to make all of them consistent to one another, ex the block on the right

I'm still around on the wikia and do still continue to do page cleanup and vandalism. If there is anything anyone would like to do to help administrate by becoming an admin (or bureaucrat) on this wiki, please let me know here or on my message wall. Please note that I am looking for people who have been here for a few months and show great dedication to wanting to improve the wiki.
I was creating an arena in a cathedral that i took over and made my home, but then, after i quit, and tried to load my world again, it immediately ran out of memory, adn then on the 2nd try i come back only to see that 3 or more chunks of my house are replaced and ive lost almost all of my progress... I'm almost certain profanity is banned on here, but excuse me for saying it, why the fuck did this happen? is there anyway to get my house back?
Hi I'm playing on a private server with my friends. On day I teleproted through the ground with my ninja dagger, then my hexxit crashed and everytime I want to join the server, my hexxit crashes :C. What should I do?
I have a hexxit server that I go on regularly, called Hex-Craft
The ip, if you are wondering, is play.hex-craft.com
Feel free to ask me as many questions as you like, and tell me if anything on here is wrong. Other than that, just have fun!
so more bows, asgard shields, legend gear and more great mods that make hexxit what it is have been removed!
this post is in hopes that the modpack devs will re add them
Oh, I didn't see you click the link to my blogs! Well, since you're here, I'll inform you as to why I'm here. I like having correct information on wikis, so I'm here to help out by flashing out articles on the website. You're welcome.
I haven't edited in several months, and I feel quite bad about that. The best I can do is to explain exactly why.
- High school is extremely tenuous for me, especially with my subpar math skills. I'm having to devote energy to that.
- I've been busy on other Wikia projects; for some reason, my messages on this wiki have stopped working.
- I've lost interest in Hexxit itself, although not Wikia.
I'm not sure, at this point, whether I'll be able to restore my activity on this wiki to what it once was. At least I can try, knowing that it's behind me having to explain.
1: Asgard Shield. shy the f#ck did they remove asgard shield? it was SUCH a great mod, but they removed it! along with the removal of legendgear, this made Hexxit a totally different mudpack, and not necessarily in a good way. We need these mods back for 4.0!!
2: LegendGear: *sigh*. This mod I totally f#cking awesome. So why the hell did they swap it for ZeldaSwordSkills?!?! thankfully 3.0 brought it back (and updated it), but the damage was already done. this is also 1 reason why 2.0 was the WORST Hexxit version for me: It added so little and took away so much.
I was exploring the Hexxit Wiki and I found on the hostile page, the Armored Enderman had no preview picture. Is there any way to change this?
I am currently trying to make a new page for the Vanilla Minecraft Dungeon
However, I do not know what to name it. Vanilla Dungeon? Dungeon? Any suggestions?
The main page, Hexxit Wiki, has now been unlocked for all non-anonymous (IPs) and non-new registered users to modify. This was done for an effort of the spotlight article, video, and image portions of the main page to be updated by those who are more trusted and more active in the community, since I am not around enough to maintain this. Please be aware, that while the main page has been unlocked to this extent, it will be administrators only again if excessive vandalism happens on the main page and such vandalism will not be tolerated. Anyone considering vandalizing the main page will be met with a ban from editing on this wiki for extended periods of time without warning due to the high volume the main page gets and can severely affect th…
Does anyone actually regularly use this feature? If so, go ahead and do, I guess. It'd really make the wiki more of a community in some way. If not, it's gonna be kinda hard getting that Opinionator medal series finished.
I'm probably making this to see if there's any badges related to making blogs. Not that I care about badges.
Edit: in italics
With the creation of Hexxit 2 and Hexxit 3, for 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 respectively, the title blacklists for the pages containing items/mobs/etc past 1.5.2 are no longer implemented. Please be aware that these pages are legitimate - assuming content is appropriate as well.
And just for reference, you can always check out the current title blacklist and spam filters at MediaWiki:Titleblacklist and Special:AbuseFilter
I created a new template in regards to the upcoming mod pack changes. This template is to be used on pages for items, mods, etc that may contain changed information that has yet to be updated. Please note that information shouldn't be updated for a page until the upcoming modpack version is marked as recommended instead of latest. This can easily be seen in the launcher's cog icon under the modpack logo.
Also, if you are having any issues with Hexxit, please make sure you post on the technic tracker: http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-3-hexxit/
I am wondering if I should start up a new series on my YouTube channel for the Hexxit 2.0 modpack. Granted, I have a lot of series already (7 of them, not including some misc videos) so I may not have the time to dedicate to the series, but wondering what everyones thoughts may be.
Recently, while playing Hexxit, I made a startling and very useful discovery: ladders can be walked on, since they have a hitbox!
Many of you may be saying "Duh, Silver! Of course you can walk on top of ladders!" but I doubt you've ever used it for this purpose.
Ladders can be used for very handy ways to climb around on sheer rock faces. I discovered this in a ravine, where all the good ores were near the top and mobs were crawling along the bottom.
Materials needed? Ladders is about it, with solid blocks optional if you're going to make turns.
To do this technique, just place ladders horizontally along the cliff face, vertically if you're going to adjust your height while climbing. This allows you to walk on top of them as far as you need.
i have never found a meteor on any of my worlds is there a activator?
So I'm back for another round here at the Hexxit Wiki. Word of a certain multiplayer server from a good friend i met elsewhere reignited my interest a in this awesome modpack. Several months ago my interests and priorities started to split and shift away to things like other games, servers, websites, non-game activities and planning for College.
This is the gist of what i say to internet forums especially, that its hard for me to pay attention to any one community or activity for an extended time or frequently. I pick up, drop, and recycle sources of entertainment and obligations, though I usually make myself pretty clear if I decide I'm done with something for good. Some things like Forum Clans or Faction Raiding servers demand a good…
Today I was looking around school and i saw a boy stabe a girl with 4 fingers. That was the second time that happened so we didnt let him be in the club. This happens a lot at my school. I think its rong. If you see this a lot too speak to me about it i might just have a little fix it for you or any other proublem you have i might have a fix it for that too.
Hello everyone, this blog post is specifically toward those who have been here and know my name. I am presently busy with a lot of life related stuff (helping grandparents move out of their house to another state, getting house work done, amongst other things that need to be done) as well as my interest has fallen away from Hexxit onto other things, like Wynncraft and Attack of the B-Team. I am still around and will still pay attention to messages and the changelog from time to time and make edits here and there where I can.
With meteors, fossils, and glowing mushrooms, Hexxit is filled with the kinds of things that intrigue and amaze us in real life, pixilated. I've built my fair share of castles, forts and farms, but never a museum, the kind of place where we gather the interesting and put in on display.
If anyone has any ideas, any suggestions or any comments, feel free to post 'em. I'll update as the situation develops, although I haven't even laid the foundation yet, so it's probably a way off.
We'll see how it goes.
I don't really know how to use a blog, maybe post some of your adventures in hexxit maybe?
Anyway i just think that Hexxit is the greatest modpack out there. Lots adventures and things to discover. Just amazing!
Hi everyone! :D
So.. Just one question...
Don't worry, it's not complicated.
Does anyone know where foxes normally roam around freely?
Luv ya! Keep playing soccer people!
Hey Everybody! Fellow Wiki Contributors, Editors, friends...
ok, back to the point.
I have one teeny, Tiny, SIMPLE question.
So.. I came across this dungeon, and inside it.. were walkers.
After I had gotten about halfway through the castle, I had to log off for classified reasons (dinner, school)
BUT.. when I had finished my homework the next day and logged on...
ALL, and I mean ALL of the soldiers became Minotaurs.
ok, so my game was VERY laggy after that. (It's like I had a slowness Infinity potion.)
So, I asked my father, and he told me it was just updating.
so I shut off and restarted my laptop completly (I even took out the battery)
So, after that.. I had logged on to hexxit again..
AND ALL THE SOLDIERS WERE GOLEMS.
is this …
My name is Prince. I love minecraft.
A new template was created for use to mark sections of an article to be cleaned up. See Template:Cleanup Section for details about it. This is an extension of the regular cleanup template due to some pages having proper content but some sections may just be badly organized, worded, etc.
All pages that have this template on them go to the Category:Sections in need of cleanup.
Some additional changes to the wiki has happened today, and this is a continuation from the Wikia Changes posting made early this morning/last night.
- View Source
There is now an option to view a pages source without having to edit it directly. This option can be gone to via the "Edit" drop down menu on any page. To get back to viewing the article, simply go to the menu item again and it'll say "View Article" instead of "View Source"
This one is to allow better usage of Special:RecentChanges to allow for it to auto-refresh without having to manually do it.
- Wall Greeting Button
There is a "hidden" feature of MediaWiki that allows for an intro message to be shown above the users message wall before the comments. This button will appear on us…
Hello , there have been some considerable changes over the last day and this blog post is to highlight some of these details.
This is a template used to give a listing of items/blocks/mobs/etc in a large listing for easier navigation from one page to another for related content — but should not replace See Also sections. You may have noticed this being put onto vanilla blocks and item pages as well as Tinkers' Construct blocks.
I will be working on getting them all set-up along with funAlways, however we could always use your help in uploading images or renaming improperly named images (See Forum:Images for name standards, also add a message wall post if you need permissions to rename/move files). Most importantly though is that this w…
Hello , there has been a change to one of the abuse filters that prevents mass blanking. The edit delta is pretty large so this won't catch everything but it will catch some more common issues. You can see the details of some abuse filters at Special:AbuseFilter.
There was a minor issue fixed regarding Template:Deleted that had caused it being used in-line with other text to break the text afterwards and go into a box.
One more template for tonight, the Minecraft template allows you to use the on any text provided.
Here is an example of A-Z and 0-9:
The Delete template has been updated to allow for a user-supplied reason to be given. The text of the template has also been changed to be a bit more specific on what to do to remove it.
- After w/ reason
Two new templates have been created to help assist with some information necessities.
The first is Template:Hover which allows text to exist to help understand or acronyms (See what I did there? :D).
The second is Template:Deleted which can remove the full need to show that a link in an old post, comment, etc was deleted by adding additional commentation to the posting and just marking it as a non-link with hover text of saying it was deleted, hence the lack of a link.
Please note that the Deleted template really shouldn't be used in article pages but should be used in comments and other locations where red-links exist to deleted pages, files, etc.
The Clear template is now deprecated for the better and more robust Template:Clr. The Clear template was created prior to knowledge of the Clr template existing (I blame poor naming). the clear template is in the process of being removed from pages that use it in favor of the Clr template. There are no major differences between the two when the conversion happens.
Also, with the change over to the Clr template, copying sources that use the Clear template will now work with other Wikia wikis without the need to change or create the template on that wiki.
There were three new templates created today to help speed along the process of discussion, these three were intended to allow for a quick and speedy means of including your point of view from the very get-go before attaching additional information afterwards, and will prevent complications of communication in the event some comments are deemed in support or opposing.
The three templates being Template:Support, Template:Oppose and Template:Comment. And are intended to proceed information in discussions. See below for an example communication using this
Hello! Today I would like to incorporate a new means of communication between the administrators and users, this being the wikia Chatroom widget. - Joe Smith
- This would prevent having to…
Hello ! The Smeltery template is now fully up and running and usable. There is some documentation that needs to still be updated for it, along with Template:Grid/Casting Basin and Template:Grid/Casting Table but all three templates are now up and operational.
I've noticed how this wiki seems to attract just so many vandalizers. For some reason, they think they're being funny, but I think they do a remarkably good kindergarten impersonation (no offense to any kindergartners reading this, although I don't think that's the case). But it's a new one, even for me, to check all the "Wikia Contributor" edits as far back as my time allows me.
Hello! This blog post is about another template update! This time featuring two new templates related to Tinkers' Construct and the third coming soon, also related to Tinkers' Construct!
- Template:Grid/Casting Basin
- This template is used to demonstrate a crafting method for the Casting Basin for a Smeltery.
- Template:Grid/Casting Table
- Similar to the above template, this one is used to demonstrate the casting table mechanics.
The third one will be Template:Grid/Smeltery which will be showing what is produced from products smelted, the amount of heat necessary, etc.
These three templates are based on the NEI visual appearance of how it displays the information to the user and as such, will look almost identical to them (some additional info such as…
It has been quite some time since my last blog posting about new templates and template changes. Instead of posting an individual blog about each new template or template change I figured I would wait a bit and lump it all into a single posting. Please be patient with this post as no blog posting about them has been done since last November!
Note: All template information can be found by clicking on the Template: header of each section. The bullet point(s) is(are) used for a brief description of its use or changes.
- A new template added on November 1st of 2013 that gives an infobox and basic information about structures found in the world of Hexxit. This includes those broken down barns found, mini-cities, castles, and other …
Hello ! I wish to inform you that my move has been successful for quite some time now. However, due to a video card issue on my main computer I am unable to play Hexxit a lot lately and am stuck to editing the wiki administratively. I have a laptop I am using to do some minor things but no new massive information from me will be added to the wiki on my end outside of maintenance (eg: administrative stuff). If you have any issues with the editors of this wiki, just let me know on my Message Wall!
I hope to be back soon.
Some of you may have noticed a lack of me being around for the past few days. I have since moved out of college housing and back to my more permanent address and have had to unpack and get things set-up here for everything. Because of this, my computer is set-up in a temporary location and is not the best in terms of being able to use it properly and makes editing this wiki or playing games in general very difficult. I will be on a bit later after this posting (this night roughly) to do some comment cleanup, page cleanup, etc.
31 Dec 2013 Hello,
Just an update about my current situation. I am still set-up quite temporarily but hopefully will be back up and going properly soon. I have been able to do some clean-up editing and the…
Hello! Im Frozenbean27!! My real name is Reggie. Im one of your average everyday minecrafters that loves to redstone! im great in the trap department, as well as the utility department! Comment if you need any tips on hexxit and its content! Thx!!!
I wanted to ask something
Is it good, If I will put link to my channel onto my personal page in this wiki?
I mean my channel is pretty crappy and I can't do much with it right now.
So tell me in comments or here:
Hey everyone! I'm new to this wiki but I want to help out with it. I have a question. Will someone help get my picture to work? It is just saying File-blahblah (not really), not showing the picture. Thanks in advance to anyone that would be willing to help me!
