Dark Staff is an item added by Better Dungeons. When the player right-clicks with this staff, it sends out a shadowy ball of arcane magic that does 1 damage to unarmored foes. To compensate for the lack of power, a slow-moving heart spawns that returns to and heals the wielder by half a heart. Unlike most staffs, the Dark Staff's damage is Not affected by armor, thus making it extremely Strong against most Better Dungeons common mobs. Also, the player's health gets healed by a half heart. It may be useful in situations where mobs aren't dropping Hearts or if you need a quick boost. The player can also send out the ball to deflect arrows. The Dark Staff's ability is fully nullified by undead targets. Left clicking just attacks with a base damage of 4.
Dark Staffs can be crafted or found in Top-tier lootchests.
