Not to be confused with Fallen Meteor, the block the generates after a Meteorite crash.

Meteor is a block added by the Falling Meteors Mod. It is usually found deep underground, and is the Player's first source of Meteor Chips before any Meteorite Meteors crash.

Obtaining[]

The Meteor Block itself (rather than it's drops), can be obtained by mining it with an Iron Pickaxe or better when enchanted with Silk Touch.

Crafting[]

Meteor blocks can be crafted from 4 Meteor Chips.

Natural Generation[]

Meteor blocks spawn rarely underground between layers Y=35 and Y=25, usually in veins of 4, similar to Ore blocks. Naturally generated structures such as Mineshafts, Caves, and even patches of gravel can overwrite this and potentially give less Meteor blocks per vein.

Uses[]

Drops[]

Meteor, when mined with and Iron Pickaxe or better, will drop 1 Meteor Chip. The Fortune enchantment will increase possible drops by 1 per level, up to a max of 4 Meteor Chips per Meteor with Fortune III.

Crafting Ingredient[]

Meteor blocks are used in the crafting of the Meteor Timer block.

Notes & Tips[]

  • Although it may appear that Meteor can be used to compactly store excess Meteor Chips, similar to Glowstone, this is inadvisable, as Meteor blocks cannot be broken down in the crafting grid, and even with Fortune III you aren't guaranteed to receive all 4 Meteor Chips back when mining it.
