As mentioned in the (now archived) "Type" field forum thread located on the Wiki Standards forum section (where this thread is located), i wanted to discuss potential categories to help describe items that follow suit with the Type field values but were not meant to be main type categories.
Such values being that the "Items" "Weapons" type value mentioned in the type field thread could be expanded upon, for example, to:
- Swords
- Giant Swords
- Bows
- Throwables
- Explosives
This would help categorize items better and allow us to create a more rigid categorical system to prevent categories being pluralized and singular from popping up on multiple pages. Such as "Potion" and "Potions" being on pages related to potions, same with "Elixir" and "Elixirs" that were both mentioned by another user.
Any thoughts on what actual categories should be used, which ones may be a plausible redirect (e.g.: the Category Sword redirecting to the category swords.)
