Status Effects are conditions in which an entity can be affected with. This includes players, mobs, thrown items, and arrows.

If the effect lasts longer than a single tick, it will damage every tick.
8 Jump Boost Allows entities to jump by half a block additional. Reduces fall damage by 1 (Heart Half) Increases jump height by about [level]/8+.46 per level. (Jump height is ([level]+4.2)^2/16, ignoring drag). Reduces fall damage by 1 (Heart Half) each level. Potion of Leaping Beacon Lavender For rank 33 of Jump Boost, jumping will cause death. At rank 128, the player cannot jump at all, and at 255 fall damage is completely disabled.
9 Nausea Warps the screen No effects for additional ranks Purple

19 Poison Does 1 (Heart Half) damage every 25 ticks/1.25 seconds until the player or mob is at Heart Half health. Hearts turn yellow-green. Poisonous potato (60% chance) Green Does not affect undead mobs or spiders. Will stop at half a heart.
20 Wither Does 1 damage every 40 ticks/2 seconds (unlike poison, the effect can kill players and other entities). Hearts turn black. Delay between damage is reduced by half (rounding down) with each additional level Wither, Wither Skeleton Bistre Death is reported as "<player> withered away".
