The Turtle Boss an enormous turtle boss mob added by the Better Dungeons mod. The turtle boss has 500 base HP, but it is actually composed of individual parts that each have their own health. The four feet each have 100 health and the head has 300 health. Each part that is destroyed before the turtle dies increases the number of Turtle Scales dropped by 2, allowing a maximum of 16 scales per turtle. Damaging a part of the turtle also damages the main body. When the main body of the turtle drops below 50, the Turtle Boss will heal itself 1 health per tick until it returns to max health. When slain, the Turtle Boss drops turtle scales, which can be used to make Turtle Scale Armor.
Behavior and AttacksEdit
The Turtle Boss is naturally hostile and will attack players within range. When the turtle has a target, it will begin to rotate its body slowly. When the turtle is still spinning slowly, it will use bubble attacks. When the spin rate maximizes, it will use its spin attack, which damages all players in its collision box.
When being attacked, the Turtle Boss has a chance of shooting a water bubble similar to that of the Water Staff at the player. Once encased in the bubble, the player will float vertically until the bubble breaks. The bubble can carry the player through solid blocks, a tactic used in the CastleWE to remove the player from the secret room.
When the Turtle Boss reaches its top spin speed, it will charge the player, dealing 6 damage to the player and any entity it collides with along the way.
The Turtle Boss spawns naturally in the secret room of the CastleWE Snow Castle. It lurks in a pool of water on the other side of a gauntlet of pressure plates connected to dispensers full of arrows and fire charges. It guards a chest of loot that sits on the far side of the pool.
It can also be found under swamps in spawned Swamp Caves.
