In this tutorial I will be explaining how to increase FPS! (make hexxit work smoother and faster) by installing Optifine; it should make your Hexxit run faster! Here, I will give you a detailed tutorial in 4 steps on how to get and install it:
- First you need to download Optifine, you can get it here: Download , just simply click on the download link between the ads.
- After you've downloaded the file, you need to go to the modpack folder. Do this:
Windows XP
- Start
- Run
- Type in "%appdata%\.technic\hexxit\bin"
- press Enter
Windows Vista/7/8
- Start
- Search for "%appdata%"
- Click on 'Roaming'
- Click on '.technic'
- Click on 'Hexxit'
- Click on 'bin'
- Follow the rest of the steps normally.
2. In there you will see a file named: modpack.jar (also can be without the .jar), do this:
- Right click on the file
- "Open with"
- WinRAR Archive / 7 Zip / (any other rar/zip reader)
3. Now take the Optifine files and drag them into the modpack.jar. Be sure that you DO NOT DELETE META-INF.
4. You're done! Now you need close all the folders and start Hexxit normally! You should see this line in the main menu:
- Minecraft 1.5.2
- MCP v.....
- FML v....
- Minecraft Forge 7.8.....
- Optifine OptiFine_1.5.2_HD_D5
Troubleshooting
In the event it doesn't work or doesn't show up, attempt this tutorial again (with unmodified hexxit). If it still fails, you may need to delete the META-INF folder.
